Eyebrow Threading

It was Friday afternoon I drove down to KB to meet up with an old friend. So Michelle (check her blog too) booked me for an eyebrow threading session @ Phoenix Hair Design (Pandan Branch).

It's my first time having it and was excited. But I was sorta doubting that I'd get a perfect brows. Since I'm getting it for only BND 3.00, why not?! hehehehe... it's a good deal. *She recommended so I trust her* Yeah, pain scale would be 3 out of 10. Not bad for a first timer!

You can see the difference, it does really frame your face..

Threading is actually another method of hair removal mainly on eyebrows, lips, and any facial hairs using twisted threads (Google it!). I thought this was the easiest, cheapest and instant method to have a naturally shaped eyebrows. In order to maintain it, just pluck new grown eyebrows! Or you can head down to salon to reshape it if you don't mind the spending. As for makeups, an eyebrow pencil is a must-have! I am currently using SkinFood's Eyebrow Bean Pencil in Dark Brown shade for a natural look.

So make sure you seek a professional or an experienced one to match your brows according to your face shape. Good luck to having yours (if you do plan to get one) !! And I'm happy to know your side of the story..

Hush Puppies

This blog is a review on a very first purchase of a pair of Hush Puppies shoes! (Credits to the boyfriend!)

Today, we went to shop for shoes @ Hush Puppies, The Mall. Never got really into this brand of shoes until he introduced it to me. I didn't get why he's so into these stuffs. So, I somehow saw a pair that really caught my eye.

I've been seeing this everywhere in magazines worn by models
This is actually vintage! I remember my parents wearing em back in those days! LOL

Mocassins? Loafers? I am not sure of its perfect name.
This suits with a pair of loose tailored shorts.
Awesomely lovet <3
At that time, they were having some sales of 20%-30% discount.
So instead of purchasing for B$100+ I got it for around B$90+ after discount.

What can I say about Hush Puppies?

- They are VERY comfortable! Soles are very soft and shoes are lightweight!
- Despite the very high price range (about B$100+ per pair), it gives excellent quality!
- Designs are not really my thing and is limited - mostly contemporary, simplistic and casual.
- Colours are quite dull if you look scan the whole area of the shop
- The shoe designs don't really catch up with the latest fashion trends in my opinion.

Overall, I would love to own another pair if they could have better designs for women. I love the quality although it is damn pricey!

The boyfriend purchased several pairs of shoes from there too so we were entitled to apply as a member..... under my name! hehe

Just a quick post everyone just to wish you a Merry Christmas this year.
Just done Christmas Eve Dinner with the family and the boyfriend and now finally party is over and now making a quick blog!

No words can describe it.

Been wanting to get Naked Palette 2 but ran OOS. However, I'm content with this one.

My very first skin79 products!

My first advanced Christmas gift! I finally have my hands on the new skin79 Vital Orange BB Cream which most beauty bloggers were raving about. The other product is called Moisture Tinted BB Cream.

As you can see from the pic above, the Vital Orange is lighter than the other. I was skeptical at first, and thought this would look too light on my skin tone. Apparently, it blends well on my skin as it starts to oxidize! *magic lol* As compared to other skin79 BB creams that I have used (such as VIP Gold), this BB cream is damn creamy! You just need little amount of it on your face. When I was trying this from a sample on my hand in the store, I accidentally squeezed the bottle too much *so embarassing haha*

- Blends my skin tone
- Does not give a grey cast on your face
- Sheer to medium coverage depending on how much you apply
- Perfect for oily/combination skin

Dislikes:
- You look like a ghost when you accidentally put too much!
- You have to cautiously squeeze down the bottle carefully to get the right amount of cream to use

FYI :: The boyfriend end up buying a Vital Orange BB Cream for himself as well after using mine. Never met these kind of guys being so skin-conscious throughout my love life! Well, can't blame his job though! And he got a 20% discount. *pffttt*

Busy November

October is gonna end very soon in a few days. And November is gonna be a very busy month. As you can see from the picture, every week I have to submit various assignments, reports and so on. So it is sort of a struggle in finishing each and every work with time. The last two weeks will be the final exams of this semester (half of my 3rd year). Although it is just 3 days within those weeks, I still need to revise huge loads of lecture notes and whatsoever.

Item Quality : Don't expect very high quality products in this online store; it says so in the price.

I love the accessories they have there cos it's so damn cheap! Make sure to check their measurements! All the items I received were just perfect for me!

Shipping : quite fast delivery (got mine 5 days after order) however expensive!

Customer Service : quite good and fast response of inquiries

By the way, before purchasing an item do make sure to ask whether they have it instock as they always run out of stock. You end up getting a partial refund in the last minute before shipping other items to you and you dont get the chance to get a replacement.

I'd say I totally agree with these rankings as I do own some of products listed. Wish they could have added hair dyes! haha..

It's weird how innovative these fellas are. If you'd ask me what I'd choose between Japan vs Korean beauty products? I'd definitely go for Japanese ones. So far, Korean is going well and developing good products like FaceShop, Missha etc. But for such huge Japan beauty companies like Shiseido, Kose that have been in the industry for decades! How could I not resist?

Ok I'm talking crap!

However, in terms of skin care I cannot say it's a 100% best unless tried and tested. Individuals aren't the same and have different types of skin. Moreover, Japan is a seasonal country (tend to have winter etc) whereas Brunei is hot, and humid. Hence, I cannot make any good comments about the skincare part.

Don't get me wrong. My whole point (or tip) is to find out their product reviews from other people or some bloggers before deciding to purchase em. On a personal note, I'm planning to get my hands on those products listed above and see how well they go for me.

2) Sorry for the lack of blogging recently. Too much focused on my uni work, you name it. I also realized that pimples have invaded my whole face again leaving dark spots, some blackheads and whiteheads. I'm very pissed off. See what stress can do to you!! Hmph~

21st B'day Wishlist

1) Body Piercing

Back in highschool, my girlfriends and I were crazy about getting loads of ear piercings cos we thought it was cool! HAHA Immature much! Now, I thought of either Navel (belly button) piercing! Because it's sexy. I had to choose between belly button and tongue initially. Since the tongue is sort of unhygienic, I got discouraged about the idea of the horrible healing process! Now another cool part. Choice of jewelleries! There's loads of designs to choose from! But for now, I'll stick with these which I thought looks nice and cute.

2) Tattoo

This was quite a big difficult decision for me. I thought of getting one not because I wanted it for fun but because I wanna express something out of my life I've been going through and have gone through all these years. You may think I'm liberal but it's something that I really wanna remember and one that means alot to me. Enough said. Size? Not too big to be seen! Location? It's not going to be revealing. What tattoo? That you'll find out soon enough.

3) Smartphone

A reliable smartphone is good for me. I dont need huge chunky ones that has good image resolutions loads of features blah blah.. I just want something that has social networking features and emails while on-the-go. Of course, a good internal memory plus not so laggy phone or one that doesn't use up so much battery all the time!

4) Victoria's Secret

A high quality set of Victoria's Secret's lingeries is a must for me! I just love their designs! I love the American apparels! They suit me all the time!

5) Hair Makeover + Treatment

The last time I went to visit the hairdresser was December 2010 where I had my very first digital perm experience! Up to now, I still love my hair! Curly at the ends and soo wavy just perfect as I wanted! However, I am in need of treatment! I had my hair dyed on January 2011 and Im getting dried split ends..
So... *hint hint*

6) FOREVER 21 SHOPPING SPREE!

My very most favourite brand of all!! I remember the first time I entered Forever 21 Philippines. I spent like PHP 10,000 (less than BND $400) in a day just from that outlet !!! Gosh~ You'll go crazy and dizzy when you get there! I just wanna own that whole shop as my personal wardrobe! I honestly couldn't choose which one to get!

7) A new pair of shoes from Charles & Keith

I been having issues with my feet size since I was a kid. I don't have small asian feet sizes! I'm a size 39 (or US 8, UK 6). It's not very common to find in most shoe shops here in Brunei. Until I found Charles & Keith. Most of my shoes are from there cos all of em has my size! HAHA

8) If all of the above isn't for you, then $$ MONEY is the last resort!

Yeah, money face much! I demand alot! LOL

Undecided to buy me a gift? Then just throw in some cash for me and I'll get what I want!

MBDM Strawberry Yoghurt Mask Review

And so the new semester starts! And first day of uni, first thing I was feeling : STRESSED & EXHAUSTED! From walking throughout faculties to hunt down lecturers just to sign my Add Slip. The scorching heat is so horrible my skin feels like its burning! And been sweating all day. I hate this VERY HOT weather. Fuhh~

Anyways, another MBD mask review, this my first time trying out Strawberry Yoghurt! Beauty masks are really something I need when I'm sorta stressed.

When opened:
Sweet, youghurt, scent! Just like from those yoghurt cups! hehe..

When put on face:
The mask wasn't that cooling or soothing at all when touched on my skin. The essence are so-so. I thought it would be really greasy and sticky to my skin. but thank God it didnt.. Few minutes after, you can only feel the soothing sensation from the essence hehe.

After removal of mask:
My face feels soft. And my skin is glowing (sorta shiny not oily). However, it made me itch in some parts of my face. Maybe because I didn't wash my face that well before putting on the mask. Hehe..

Overall Rating: 5 out of 10

Will I buy it again? Not suitable for me.

Plastic is Fantastic!

I see now why all Korean actresses look all identical on tv. There were times when I can't differentiate them. The secret? Oval & V-Line face shape!! Do not get disgusted the fact that they do change their face shape by "shaving" off their big, square jaw. Yes, square jaw reduction and face contouring people! My definition of beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Think at this modern times, small, round, doll-like face is trending. Almost 60% of Korean women go under the knife to seek beauty. Be it double eyelids, sharp chin, whatever that makes em pretty and cute.

One famous figure is Kim Ah-Jung from the 200 Pounds Beauty movie. It's so ironic that in the movie, she was a fat girl who have gone for plastic surgery in which she actually had in real life.

Look what little makeup, hair, weight loss and plastic surgery can do! She obviously lost some weight since highschool, next step was getting double eyelids! I think she also got her eyes widened cos the whites of her eyes are more visible. After the eyes, is the nose and then cosmetic dentistry. She also might have gotten an implant in her forehead to make it look rounder.

Another example is Park Min-Young. It's so amazing how her face looked so slim. She got her jaws done by making her face into a V-Line shape. If you wanna see more of her pictures, go Google yourself!

Thought they looked so original and natural until I've found out they're fake. However, it is alright with me. They have a reason why they do it. Yet, come to think of it, these beauty are temporary. It won't last forever.

I happen to have big square jaws. What I do? I just cover it with my hair to make my face look slimmer lol. On the bright side, I'm really glad I'm blessed with double lids! My nose looks okay to me, but just that when I smile it goes flat! And my nostrils are quite huge. HAHA enough said.

I'm happy with what I have than having none.

Princess Mimi Review : Apple Green

Long awaited review post on Princess Mimi's (Bambi series) Apple Green lens! I've been very particular when it comes to using contact lenses. I use GEO's Super Angel Brown almost everyday and it's so comfortable..

This Princess Mimi lens has been an outrage among beauty bloggers. So I wanted to give it a try. This is my FIRST green lens! I was only fond of greys and browns cos of the natural look..

There were faulty seams and stitches in em'.. and Dad made it all lookin new!!

I ABSOLOUTELY LOVE THE LENS. It's so comfy and it doesn't dry up for long hours. I think this lens suits for any night outs. Not really suitable for everyday look and day outs. I'd reckon to use this with slightly heavy makeup cos it doesn't suit me without makeup.

So glad I'm blessed with double lids despite the small, asian eyes. Doesn't really matter if the right one is a little monolid when I smile..

Overall : Awesome! Very sexy and seductive eyes especially for night occasions!

MBDM Apple Polyphenol Mask Review

As usual, bought it from Skin Philosophy. Can't tell ya how awesome this beauty store is. They offer cheap masks as compared to Brunei's retail outlets.

I was unwell for almost two weeks and pimples started popping up my forehead and cheeks. I hate it!

When opened:
It has an apple scent! To me it was more like green apple!

When put on face:
The essence were too much! And they were dripping.. it took me quite a while to fit it perfectly on my face..It felt so cool when the mask touched my skin.

After removal of mask:
Face went glowy and bright. Skin felt tight and smooth.. Did not break out the next morning

Overall Rating: 7 out of 10

Will I buy it again? Maybe.

It is the upgraded version of the first HTC Wildfire - an entry-level Android device for mobile users on a budget. With improved screen resolution, design and Android OS, I think this is just right for me! Ideal for first time smartphone users! Regardless of its poor performance and no front-facing camera. lol...

Been googling people's reviews on this gadget, hence I don't need to re-blog about them.

Pros:
- Truly pocket-sized and cute chunky phone
- Improved screen resolution
- Up to date Android 2.3 Software (Gingerbread)
- Customizable and variety of Home screen widgets
- No lag in text messaging
- Good battery life
- Has more social features (which I really like!)

Cons:
- Slow processor means sluggish performance
- Web browsing is slow especially on large websites (it wont bother me at all)
- Not suitable for large-handed users
- Disappointing camera (who cares? its 5MP!)
- Not a gaming phone

Sorry I haven't update this blog quite long already. Been so busy with uni and only now I got to! So glad that my exams and submission of assignments are over! It's weird how you're really looking forward to having your 3 months holiday. And when you are actually enjoying it, it seemed boring now!

Clinica Dermatologica 2nd Visit

I wanted to blog this a loong time ago during my last December holiday visit in the Philippines. So it was my second time round visiting the clinic. To read about my first experience, READ HERE. According to the first post, I said I would never wanna go back there again due to such painful experience!! But, stupidly, I was IN DESPERATE NEED OF TREATMENT!! My face became worse than ever! My acne scars did not seem to brighten at all no matter what products I use and etc..

I decided not to have another consultation with the dermatologist cos I just want to have a normal facial treatment. Yes.. I hate saying this - It's damn painful! I end up getting slightly swollen and red spotted face. This is the part that I hate so much of how your face will look after getting a facial treatment. I barely wanna go out shopping and show myself.

In the middle of the treatment, Dra. Isabel dropped by to see me. Surprisingly, she still remember me after 2 years of absence! She examined my face and said it got really worse than before.

Doctor: Are you drinking anything? Medications? OCPs?
Me: No
Doctor: I would prefer to give you Accutane. This normal treatment won't fully cure your acnes.
Me: Are there any side effects?
Doctor: Yes, you shouldn't get pregnant otherwise you would have an abnormal baby. How old are you?
Me: 20
... I was like WTF...

I can't remember the rest of the conversation but in the end I decided not to have Accutane. I think it's way too much for me, was too afraid of the bad effects etc. As far as I know, Accutane is a medication treatment for people who really have SEVERE acne. Mine do not consider as SEVERE. It was just multiple acnes not reddish pimples but just loads of zits that when they die they leave me dark spots. And everyday they pop up on my face.

I purposely spent a total of PHP8000+ for the whole treatment along with 3 sets of home medications. Thanks to Dad's card! One set of home medications include: the antibiotic solution Erythromycin, Post-acne lotion, Mixture lotion, Placenta gel, sunblock, black bleaching soap, white acne soap, yellow soap, Vitawhite solution and papaya whitening soap.

Imagine how I routinely use all these meds everyday (night and day) -_- I've been told to not skip or forget and I should always wear sunblock during the day. These meds were prescribed specially for my skin and it's not like any other brands they sell in department stores. The Erythromycin solution really helped! Initially, I had burning sensation when applying this cos of my inflamed skin after treatment. I guess it's a strong content so I use it economically concentrating on acne areas only.

Now it's been 2 months I've been using the medications.. And so far it has been the most awesome result! Don't believe me?? Go see for yourself. (Beware of ugly photos..lol)

Came back from holiday and it was still recovering, still had blemishes (December 28, 2010)

I should have posted this review a long time ago! And I can't remember when I received this in the mail. Bought this on eBay and it was so damn cheap! Ok lah.. not much difference. It was USD 13+ (BND 17+) including shipping as compared to buying from Kanojyo's for $25!

I got really crazy excited when I received this! Been wanting this shit for so long. I've seen this thing in Japanese magazines a gazillion times and been getting loads of reviews from beauty bloggers like Eki and many more..

Upside: I totally love it!! The lashes are super fine and soft you cant feel a thing.

Downside: The length of the lashes are quite longer than the length of my eyes so the excess length sticks out sometimes but it doesn't bother me much. I think that's the whole point of getting big dolly eyes. Also, you MUST pair this up with FAKE LOWER LASHES!! It won't look so perfect without em!

Will I buy it again? YES! PLUS LOWER LASHES!!

I truly apologize that I have been M.I.A. for such a loong time! Many things have happened; there have been many ups and downs throughout the chapters of my life and I am soo GLAD I feel much better and am moving on~! So I decided to start anew!

Just so you won't miss the episodes, here's a short list.

- My boyfriend (now ex) of almost 3 years broke up with me last November on my last day of exam.

- I had an AWESOME HOLIDAY in the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia from December till the NEW YEAR 2011 !

- School life is getting much better and better than ever and I'm soo loving it !

- My business has been going really well.. no doubt !

- I feel SO MUCH PRETTIER !! My pimples and acnes have disappeared !!

- And finally.. it's good to be single again ! And so far.. it has been fun.. REALLY FUN ;)

FaceQ Luffa + Adloy

This is my first time trying FaceQ mask. FaceQ is actually manufactured and designed under the same company who made MBDM.

When opened:

The scent was horrible. Not sweet! It smells "veggie-like". I find that the essence is very gooey (cos of its aloe vera extract) and is more than ones in MBDM.

When put on face:

Mask fits perfectly into my face better than MBDM face masks. It sticks well and the essence is really generous! The mask is thin though. It really has that cooling sensation but I do not like the 'veggie' smell. But it doesn't bother me though cos the scent fades.

I left the mask on for about 45 minutes!

After removal of mask:

Refreshed! My face felt REALLY tight! (im serious) However, parts of my face like my eyebrow area was dry and i dont know why that happened. Even my friend noticed how tight my face looked! I tried to smile and i really felt that my skin was tight as if you just had a botox~ LOL

Overall rating: 9 out 10

If it hadnt made my skin dry, I would use this often.

Will I buy it again? Maybe

MBDM Mixed Berry

Now this is my 3rd use of MBDM = Mixed Berry Mask. All infos about it are stated on the left. I hope this does not cause any reaction to my skin as its sort of sensitive.

When opened:

It smells damn sweet! Like how you sniff yoghurt! LOL It's really pleasant and not too strong. The essence was not sticky at all. At first, you feel that it's gooey & slimy & slippery but later on it will be dried up and absorbed into your skin without that sticky feeling.

When put on face:

After some time you don't smell the scent anymore. Again, it's sorta soothing.

I left the mask on for about 30 minutes.

After removal of mask:

My face feels smooth, soft & tight. And it looked shiny & glowy. However my blemishes were still visible. Thank God there was no reaction on my skin. Didn't seem to brighten my face at all though.

Overall rating: 8 out of 10

It doesnt seem to brighten my face or maybe it's just me? I dont know

Will I buy it again? YES & MAYBE

MBDM Bulgarian White Rose

As from the previous post, I bought this from Skin Philosophy.

Since I been stressed from huge loads of written assignments, I chose this Bulgarian White Rose mask to be 'tried & tested' first. This is my 2nd MBDM. First was the Pearl Powder.

When opened:

I smelled the light rosy scent instantly. The essence felt sticky.

When put on face:

Ahhhh.... it's soothing! I feel so relaxed! I think all MBDM masks are very soothing. It has that slight cooling sensation.

The essence left on my fingers apparently weren't sticky after all. I love it! I have some little pimples on my jawline so I feel kinda itchy but it doesn't bother me at all cos even without the mask, my pimples strangely tempting me to scratch it.

I left the mask on for about 40 minutes.

After removal of mask:

Very refreshing! My face feels cool and I massaged my face till the essence has gone. My face did not seem to brighten. Skin feels sorta tight; soft; smooth and it's radiant; glowing. Itch on my jawline and chin was still there.

Overall rating: 8 out of 10

It would be 10/10 if I did not feel the itch on my face. I don't blame the mask. My skin is really oily and acne-prone.

Will I buy it again?

No. It made mild reaction on my skin whereas compared to the Pearl Powder mask; it did not.

I don't know why I have been pissy and grumpy lately. It's not even my PMS period. However I've come to a conclusion that I may have been:

1) stressed out

2) lacking social life

3) frustrated

4) unable to relax for once!

5) getting ugly over time

6) jealous that ppl are having so much fun and I can't

7) quite depressed that no one cares how i feel; empathy at least rather than giving solutions

8) feeling so lonely that I cannot AT LEAST have someone LISTEN.

It's therapeutic and I feel much better when someone at least listens to my ramblings, what happened to me today or maybe what great things happened to me today. Negative and Positive.

I wanna chat with my brothers, but they're not matured enough and their problems aren't the same level as I have. My parents are too busy, they come home and they're tired. My close friends are as busy as I am with the school workload. Basically no one.

When something bad happened to ya, of course you wanna talk about it, then just suddenly the person would say, "I don't wanna hear negative things please. Is there anything positive you wanna talk about?"

Alright nevermind then. I'll find somebody else to listen to me.

But when there's NO ONE at all. I just feel that I NEED to express it. Not keep it within myself. Cos i Hate being lonely! I'm not the type of person whose in their own world. And that's when I realized when I keep things to myself, I get angry and easily gets pissed off over the littlest things.

And my brother wondered, "Why are you acting so grumpy? PMS ka?"

Of course, I'm not that selfish! I don't force people to listen to me. When they're busy and it's not a good time. I would say "It's alright.." When they're in the middle of something, of course I won't budge. Maybe even if they're in the middle of dating or in the middle of hanging out with their other friends.

:'(

But if there's any chance I could find liquor or beer in the fridge, I'll just go and grab it till I fall asleep!

Things have been going crazy in academic life.

Catching up before getting myself troubled on assignment deadlines really kills me! Mentally, emotionally and physically.

Put yourself in my shoes; having to stand the whole hours of clinicals. Then, you had to rush home to grab a bite of whatever foods/drinks you could find & change to casual clothes then drive back to school to attend class.

And the next thing you know, you may be dozing off during class. After class, you head home. Threw your bag on the couch; did not change your clothes and went straight to bed... IN THE AFTERNOON.

BAM~ YOU WOKE UP AT 10pm IN THE EVENING!! Ohh, I almost forgot. You also tend to dream random things in the middle of dozing off. Even thinking about what you gonna do next after you wake up or what assignments you need to get done. Yeah...

Congrats, you just skipped lunch & dinner.

MBDM Pearl Powder Mask

It's claimed to be Asian/Taiwan's #1 hot-selling face mask! & It's TRUE~

It took me time to choose which mask suit me best. And since I have acne-prone skin and dull skin, I chose the Pearl Powder Mask.

I was skeptical about having the essence in the mask cos I've had previous experiences with other masks having sticky essences & It made me have oily skin & made me break out the next day! WTF~

First response to this mask:

Arms went goosebumps when mask in contact with my skin! So cold!

Then suddenly very cooling (soothing.. like mint on ur face.)

I like the essence in the packaging , does not leave sticky feeling when dried up!

It just felt like water! And the scent is not that strong, it is very light floral scent.

Essence did not drip at all and i used the remaining essence for my neck! HEHE

Outcome:

Very refreshing! But I don't see my face all whitened *lol* But it left my skin feel smooth and kinda taut. Did not make my skin dry or anything at all. The cooling sensation is still there.

Upside:

It's worth the buy! The mask is really effective and compatible with my skin! I love the mint-feeling! It's sort of like ICE on your face & it's tingling! HEHE

Also, the essence is just right! Not sticky and not reacting on my skin!

Downside:

Some stores sell it at a really high price. So try to find a good reliable store/online store who sells these masks. Be careful as you might get the "FAKE" kind. To know you get the 100% AUTHENTIC, make sure it has the sticker just like the 1st picture above.

I'm sorta considering of getting a hair makeover! New hairstyle, Colour it & Digital Perm!

My hair is really thick, and coarse! Dry as well. No matter how much I really maintain it (including healthy diet), I really never get that healthy shiny hair! Too lazy to use the curling iron cos it takes me ONE hour to curl my ends! It's so frustrating!

I been crazy about getting myself a BB cream but I was not decisive enough because I do not know what is really good for my skin tone. There is SO MANY BB Creams out there! Thank God I have these sample sizes to try on. So far, I think this BB cream is alright out of the 4 BB creams (last post).

1) Shade: Its shade matches my skin tone and does not give that greyish undertone.

2) Texture: Easy to apply and it's smooth. It is very light-feeling.

3) Coverage: Medium-coverage. Sheer. I had to wear it together with concealer in some parts.

4) Oil Control: I'm not sure about this though. I applied it around 2pm then after 5 hours, my face get all oily/greasy. So probably I'm gonna have to say it's not good in oil-control.

Overall: I love it in terms of texture and the shade. It does not give me that greyish undertone on my face unlike the skin79 Hot Pink. It gives good coverage too and it brightens up my skin tone and glows too! Makes me look more lively.. heheh..despite the poor oil-control.

Here is the outcome after 5 hours. Sorta greasy/oily on my cheeks and nose especially.

I have a passion for both Nursing and Business. But why does this has to happen to me? I been thinking all these while! I keep asking myself "Why do I like Nursing?" & "Why do I like Business?".

I like Nursing because I have compassion/care for the sick & dying. I love communicating with people. Not only because it gives you a good status and good pay, but Nursing is a lot of hard work in which stress comes in and you gotta think critically at times. Your personal leisure time may be limited but it's worth it.

I like Business because.. I don't know. I think I'm naturally, really INTO it. I love maths, I like how things work from economies to cashflows. I like accounting & finance, cos I thought I am really good at it. I may not have mastered Leadership skills yet, but sooner I will. I been owning by small online business and it's so far so good! I have a dream of building my own business and get famous one day. Even if it is just a clothing store or a fast food restaurant. Which is why I thought of learning more in-depth in the business world. I like it because it is as almost the same thing as being a Nurse. Cos you work hard, then you get good pay = profits! Your sweat pays off ya know~

Because those who never failed will never succeed. IN MY OPINION OK.

Lazy people are just waiting for something to drop from the sky.

Remember my last post regarding BB creams? Yes, I finally got my hands on it. I should have blogged this a long time ago though. Oops.

Okay. Not much to review about as you can see on one of my tubes it has been used often.

So I'm gonna cut to the chase. By making its pros & cons! (Skin79 Super+ Hot Pink BB Cream)

Pros:

- Easy to apply

- Good coverage

- Fade scent

- Oil-free

- Long-lasting

- Best for sensitive, acne-prone skin like me

Cons:

- It has a greyish undertone which I don't really like it. Cos it makes you look like a ghost! Esp when taking pictures of yourself, your face is way "whiter" than your neck & shoulders.

- You have to use alot to get that good coverage.

Now.. as for the other 3.

The VIP Gold Super+ BB Cream is more or less similar to the Pink one. Only that it is for people with dry & combination skin.

Whereas the remaining 2 BB Diamonds; it is also more or less similar but they both have sparkles in them. So this is best for night outs or parties =)

Well to be honest, I was not really satisfied with the Hot Pink BB Cream! Blame with all the greyish undertones! It does not really suit with my skin tone. Maybe those who really have fair skin, it would really look good in them.

My next BB cream "hunt" will be : L'eGere Multi-White All-in-1 BB cream!

I've read lots of positive reviews about it & obviously these without greyish undertones caught my attention!

I don't know how I started drinking one. But I remember how I was introduced to it. My friends & I went camping at the beach. I felt thirsty that I wanted to drink water. But my friends only brought green tea/beer for camping =S So I had to drink it. I didn't like the taste. Maybe it was the artificial taste or something but now I'm used to it and I love drinking it.

Artificial ones aren't for me anyways. I buy those leaves then you brew them yourself. I love em!

I did some researches about it that it's good for our health. Popularly for slimming down; removing toxins away from your body. Researchers also stated that it can reduce cardiovascular diseases (heart diseases), forms of cancer (such as ovarian cancer, lung cancer, skin cancer etc), diabetes and help in longevity (longer life).

There's another type of tea called "black tea". Only differences between them is that "black tea" is 2-3 times more caffeinated than green tea due to the low polyphenol content. Polyphenols are antioxidants. And green tea has high polyphenol content. In fact, the antioxidant effects of polyphenols appear to be greater than vitamin C!

Antioxidants are substances that scavenge free radicals -- damaging compounds in the body that alter cells, tamper with DNA (genetic material), and even cause cell death. Free radicals occur naturally in the body, but environmental toxins (including UV rays from the sun), radiation, cigarette smoke and air pollution) also give rise to these damaging particles. Many scientists believe that free radicals contribute to the aging process as well as the development of a number of health problems, including cancer and heart disease. Antioxidants such as polyphenols in green tea can neutralize free radicals and may reduce or even help prevent some of the damage they cause.

Conversely, it is also not good to drink too much. A cup of two a day should be good like I always do. Otherwise, side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headaches, and loss of appetite can occur. Even insomnia. Some people could also get caffeine poisoning where you could get stomach ulcers or abdominal spasms (like feeling of wanting to vomit).

I cannot guarantee it is 100% true but I believe in my opinion it can help increase our immunity and prevent ourselves from getting infected and from diseases/cancers.

I also forgot to mention that it can be a stress reliever =) I always bring along my fave mug and green tea bags with me to work (during clinicals at hospital wards) when I need to. Time is really precious when you work and you gotta finish the tasks for the sake of the patients so I really get frustrated / stressed / so panicked / in an adrenaline rush / even nervous during the busy hours. So all I just need is a cup of hot green tea and I feel so relaxed and so refreshed!!!

Serious. I'm not joking. HAHA

The last time I visited to a doctor was last year (my last semester in school). I was coughing non-stop because of dry throat and annoying phlegms i had to spit out. And that took a month for me to recover no matter how much water I drank!

Yesterday, I felt horrible. During my afternoon shift at the hospital, I just wanted to go home so bad! But the senior staff nurse won't allow me to! She's so mean and unprofessional!! wtf

I dozed off for 30 minutes in the nurse's station while my good friend accompanied me and read a book at the same time. I did not do much work that time cos we only had very few patients. So imagine doing nothing for the rest of the shift hours (4 hours left to be exact). And from 6pm onwards, the ward has gone freakishly COLD!! I was shivering. Wearing thick socks & a shirt underneath my long-sleeved uniform didn't help either. I kept drinking water but I just kept peeing. Even the toilet bowl is cold to sit on to! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!

My head is so painful I can't bend it down cos if I do, there's this sharp painful sensation that would last for a few seconds and I cannot bear that pain!! I told the staff nurse about my condition but she didn't care. I wanted to keep myself warm i.e. go outside the ward but she didn't allow me!!

SO I had to bear all these pain until the end of the shift (9PM).....

As I got home, I was still shivering. I quickly changed to my long pants + long sleeve. Went straight to bed. My eyes were in tears cos I could feel the heat steaming all over me. BAD HIGH FEVER.

Thank God. My mum came to rescue me. She massaged me with hot ointment? And I felt a little okay.. But still dizzy. Made me hot porridge & went back to bed.

SO yeah.. the next day (today) went to visit a doctor. Finally gave me meds & I feel so much better now.

When you want things to be in a systemic way and get things right and organized, thank God for always guiding you throughout the no-matter-what.

But when it doesn't, I seem to get a little frustrated when unexpecting things come in the way. Like having the TOEFL test FULLY BOOKED this year!!! WTF !!!! Why can't Brunei offer the test at least more than once a year?!?! This is crazy!!

So panicking I do not know what should I do first.. this that this that... ARGH!!!!

Dermalogica Facial Review Part 2

So there goes facial treatment again. I've seen changes already after 2 weeks! After using Medibac Acne Treatment Kit, it made my skin a little less oily & greasy all day. Initially, it dried up my skin really well! Worthy to kill those yummy zits and pimples!

Mind you, I been taking pictures days after days to see if there is really changes when using the Dermalogica products. And today, I managed to take pictures of the private room of the Dermaline Spa i went to. So happy and so glad to see such GLOWING and clear skin!

Despite the good results, the products they used on me is bothering me. It is fragrance-free and smells pungent with some kind of herbs or something. Apparently, there's chamomile extract and something else which I forgot. It doesn't smell so fruity and all =(

Yeah. Had the same facial treatment: Clarifying Enzyme facial Treatment.
But this time, was another staff. She's so pretty & I envy her skin so much!

Anyways. Throughout the treatment, it was better! Less painful! Well, that's cos I no more has huge ugly pimples! She told me that I only have a few tiny zits just at the edges of my faces and my jaws =( Prolly cos of my hair always down. The extraction part was not that long. PHEW THANK GOD~ and .. it was VERY VERY RELAXING! the classical, instrumental love songs in the background as well as the comfy bed, at the same time she massages my face.

I fell asleep involuntarily =D

I forgot how long I've dozed off until I could feel myself I'm under a soothing minty facial mask (still smelled bad). She left me in the room and no one was there. even with my eyes closed, I could feel no one was inside the room but me. I couldn't open my eyes cos she put a folded cotton pad on my eyelids from the start of treatment! I was curious so I touched it and lift one cotton pad so I could only see with my one eye. I saw the cotton pad is soaked with something and she put some kind of cream. Thumb & index finger is now stained. -_-

I continued to ZzZ.. hehehehe

I heard someone slide the door so I guess she came back. She finally washed & wiped my face with sponge soaked with warm water =) I couldn't cringe or smile or smirk, felt like my face was cemented! Was afraid to crack up though. LOL

Yeah she massaged me again =) Then put some thing on my face... DONE!

I've booked in a week earlier before my FACIAL DAY! I been mad excited about it and now I can finally blog and post pictures about it!

Initially, I felt a little anxious cos it's my first time going for facials on my own and spend them with my own "earned" budget $$$ although this was the second time of me going for facials. My very first encounter on getting a facial slash acne treatment was GORGEOUS & PAINFUL!!

So.. what I'm gonna tell you basically is that......... it felt the same. GORGEOUS & PAINFUL!!

Kinda got late for my facial appointment (ahiihiiii) but oh well. The service and the staffs were good and friendly. Sort of embarrassed about being looked in the face so close with my pimples popped out. Since it is CNY fever, they are having a promotion. According to my skin type, which is oily and acne-prone type (so worse eh!), they recommended me for Clarifying Enzyme Facial Treatment (for 2 sessions!). She said that it includes the basic facial, the cleansing, the acne treatment, face and neck massage and some sort of masque to cool down & refresh my face. Sound very luxury eh? So SPA-ish! HAHAHAHA

Brought into a very nice dimmed room, with classical romance music in the background.... WOAH! I just so wanna relax and sleep~ The usual la -_- first thing they wanna know about me is my race. Whether I'm Chinese or Malay = NEITHER.
So funny la they can't figure out what my race is HEHEHEHE
ANYWAYS. The narrow bed was comfy. Immediately, she started off putting several cleansers, then mineral oils then to cleansers again, massage then wipe it off with wet sponge. Then I was given a STEAM on my face twice! (I love STEAM...!)

Then to this smelly mask she brushed on. She said I will feel "tingly" cos it will kill the bacteria. It TINGLED like HELL. Meaning it worked. The bacteria under my pimples died. I was tempting to scratch though. I was left for 10 minutes.

Next. EXTRACTION TIME. Fuhh. I knew at this point this will hurt like shit!! >_< style="font-weight: bold;">Urie called me in the middle of Extraction Time. I was in the middle of pain! HAHAHA

Dear.. I'll explain to you when we talk =)

Overall, I paid approximately $300. Crazy right?! (Mum paid half beforehand LOL) The sequence of the facial treatment was not as exactly as what happened though cos I couldn't remember everything the lady did. She gave me products to use at home for maintenance and assure me that I will look better soon.

My next appointment with them will be in 2 weeks time.

- Getting myself a facial treatment. My pimples have seriously gone worse. My back has pimples too. Disgusting huh? I really look hideous.
- Get my hair fixed. I don't know maybe rebond it or go for a treatment. It is very frizzy and puffy. I look even more hideous.
- Go to a spa; massage; body scrub.
- Try for eyelash perming. I don't know how would I look like at the end result but we'll see.
- Buying more clothes since it's CNY fever, they usually sell with loads of DISCOUNTS!
- Buy a pair of new shoes.
- Try waxing LOL
- Buy myself a new hair curler or straightener. I sold my current one =)

You do realise that I sound very self-conscious here =P

Actually my MAIN GOAL for now : is to get rid of my acnes and pimple scars. I can't take it anymore! It's been years I've been bearing these fugly pimples! No matter how much I don't bother what they all say, I can't let them do this to me all the time whenever wherever they want. Fuck em!

Been thinking about what are my New Year's resolutions and things that so much have happened in 2009. woah..

And honestly, I don't miss school. As much as I love doing Nursing, in particular, I DO NOT MISS UNI! When school starts by Monday (11/Jan) things will go back to the same ol thing again like LAST YEAR (2009). So boring lah! Makes me sooo depressed.

I couldn't even cope being such a loner for damn 4 months!!

I hate it when they go out lunch in groups without me like I never even exist!
I hate it when they're in their own world!
I hate it when they backstab you for no fucking reason!
I hate it when they stare!
I hate it when they gossip!
I hate it when they're trying to push me down!
I hate it when they look down on me like I'm a piece of slut!

I guess the UNI just HATES me. This isn't fucking high school anymore.

Im gonna have to choose high school over university. It was so much fun, full of good moments!

But Im not gonna give up. Imma try to make my uni life as best as possible this 2010!

If in the case that it doesn't work, I may have to switch uni somewhere else. That you do not need to know. =) They should be happy when I'm gone =)

It was Sunday morning when my dad found this kitten around the jungle near our house. It's been meowing for the last 2 nights. He was begging for milk!

So I had to feed him just water. And from time to time, he somehow looks for its mother's nipple to suck it. But he failed. Then, he started sucking our fingers -_- those skin excess between our fingers for your info. I even took a video of it HAHAH

Then I started buying this mini feeding bottle and a milk replacer specially for newborn kittens. He liked it. And when he doesn't wanna suck anymore, he barely crawls/walks. Then, he goes to sleep.

SO, he's growing healthily and fat! He's active.

Now. It's been 5 days I've been nursing him. NOW HE'S AWFULLY SICK! I noticed that he couldn't walk/crawl after making a poo/pee and he couldn't lift up his own head. SO I just kept him warm all day. He's been "oversleeping". Then, I rushed to the vet clinic to check his status.

The vet told me hes having very low temperature. And he's very weak. And said there's virus/bacteria in his body that his immune system can't cope with it. So she gave me antibiotics. Which costs $20! My wallet hurts, really. I was fortunate cos I only had 20 bucks with me that time. I may be a little satisfied but I'm worried he couldn't make it. Mind you, he's only around 2 weeks old :( I know I am aware kittens at this stage are vulnerable.

Sigh. I hope he can make it :(

Now I let him rest behind my laptop since it's quite warm there haha at the same time I'm blogging..

I plan to give vaccination to this kitten some time soon...when I have enough $$

We're all humans. When it comes to relationships, we can only do so much and it is impossible for us to meet every of their expectations. Yes. We do have our own lives; just as they do or should.

Very common issue: When phone conversations becomes so LIMITED. Doesn't talk as much to them as much as they used to or even doesn't want to. Results in arguing. I tell ya. I've had bad experience back then. He hunged up on me as I was in the middle of talking. VERY RUDE. As tempting as it might be, I actually want to do that; prolly it's cos of the awkward silence; there's no point of talking when we just kept arguing. It's the worst thing you could possibly do. Well, no one deserves it.

My point is that: I just need to fucking have an open mind and see people's point of view. I asked myself "How would I feel if I am on the other side of the issue?" I surely bet I'd be reacting the same as them, or at least be able to understand why they react the way they do.

The same thing to giving cold shoulders. It's just gonna make things even worse. Not going to get any happier and they aren't either. And it's NOT gonna make them come kneel in front of you for forgiveness!

Don't do that. That's my advice.

And I wonder why I suddenly blog about this stuff.

Update: School's been constantly unspriteful.
My colleague told me about people just being in their room who just studies or never go out almost throughout his/her whole life. And said they are having a higher chance of getting suicide and example of a person is me. WTH
Yehh, can be true. I barely get out of the house. But I'm not crazy enough to kill myself.
Hmm...

Then, advised me that I should go out & relax for once in awhile rather than sitting in front of my laptop making myself so tired & pimply. HAHA

So I did. I drove out.
However, my day was... "very depressing".
And at this point, you dont wanna know where and why so I end this here :)

Come to think of it, there has been calamities everywhere from time to time.
I always pray to God to give us all full guideness and protection whenever wherever we are.

The typhoons that came to attack again, the spreading earthquake, the tsunamis, the endless war in the Mid East, and the H1N1 influenza. It's really affecting the whole world. Not to mention, the result of crisis!

It really scares me. Thousands are in a state of vulnerability and millions die everyday..

I hate to say this. I really do not like this word and I wished it never existed. Nearly..
End of the world.

We don't know what comes next. We made predictions: the Apocalypse 2012, I don't know if I should believe that.

What I'm saying is that: What is happening to the world?!?!

Mum is so worried about the conditions back home. The killer wind strikes the second time and glad they've prepared and are safe at hand. They were sleepless throughout the whole day & night, praying to God for mercy..

Don't want to say anymore.. it just reminds me of the time when I was actually there and I thought its the end. And from that moment, it will never be erased from my memories.

Hello people! Again, I apologize. Two weeks I have not updated this dead blog.

BUSY WAH !!~
I have Socio Test tomorrow and Chemistry Formative Exams this Saturday (eek!!)

This uni is soooo............. idk -_- I can say it's .... stressing me out even if it's the first semester. I totally abandoned my Nursing subject aside (i still do) and focus more on the Health Science (subject that Medicine studs take as well) & Sociology. The Health Science (Chemistry of Life) part makes me feel like im a Med student -_- I wonder how they can manage all the workloads @_@ I can't even cope with it. I'd rather give up or get kicked out by med school than squeezing your brain onto some anatomy & physiology shits till you manage to own yourself a mentally disordered brain.

You'd be like .. "Cheh~ Gretsen's so smart she can pass easily one. Besides, she was a Pure Science student.."

Speaking of brains, people have their own talent. Of course I do have my own. But not in a medicinal biochemical perspective!! .. And I thought about the Medicine students. How can they cope with it?!? I noticed their learning objectives this semester. It was 4 TIMES the number than ours! OMFG!! I also noticed in my PBL class, DUHH... they're very responsive & answers questions so well they can lecture us already O_o
Dont get me wrong. They're my very good friendly colleagues (not all lah-cos some wants to be in their own world-selfish huh?) cos they can help me out whenever I don't know anything. In turn, I help them out on practicals like getting Blood Pressure, temperature from patients & etc etc... the basic vital signs (piece of cake!!) HAHA ANYWAYS.

I wonder. You think people can be potentially mentally retarded from being so OVER GENIOUSLY INTELLIGENT ?!?! I imagine those facts, and all those infos going into your head, its like a motor when used too much it becomes broken, gears broken, wires broken thus, out of order. Gets? Hmm... =S

Formative exams are coming so soon. Oh my.. time really flies so fast.
I have one in mid October, end November and early December :(
The subjects are Chemistry of Life, Chemistry of Life II & Nursing Practice (OSCE) respectively.
I don't know if I should panic because I feel that I didn't prepare enough since the first day.
Not to mention, I have a test on Sociology after our mid-semester break *sakit hatiku*

Our mid-semester break ain't fun and exciting at all cos it's just one damn week.

My chance to relax, have fun & go out you ask? NOHHHH!!

ARGH! which one do you think is nice?! Hmm.. they're both FLAT & SLEEK. I like both of their awesome LED lighting effects! The SE phone has 3.2MP camera but the LG phone has 3.0MP.

As long as they have MP3 player, a not-so-bad camera & video..its fine with me..

However... the LG phone costs around $200+ whereas the SE phone is around $300+

My own Clio

I forgot to blog about my car ehehe..

Okay. ~~Initially borrowed & used Mazda 2 from Mom's boss.~~

Now it's a black Renault Clio '07.

It's not bad at all. Black and somewhat cute. Sayang man. Mazda 2 (1.6CC) was much powerful than Clio (1.4CC) But it's alright. at least I have my own car now.
I used to feel bad cos Dad kept on coming back and forth just to send and pick me up from uni. Plus I interrupt his working time especially when he's so busy with Hari Raya clothes~

I decided not to buy exclusively new apparently the car I actually wanted ran out of stock. Obviously, cos of $$$ and I've plans on saving.
So I opt for second-hand, used for 2 years, looks new AND.. A COST-SAVER!!!
Engine still good, its mileage is very little. So I think I made a good choice! =D

The downside is that: I probably be my brothers' driver for school. HECK!
Hmm... well maybe that depends if I'm free cos my schedule's packed almost everyday!

So far... uni is not too bad for these past 4 weeks.

However, something happened last week and it made my eyes really bulgy and sore I had to hide behind my fake glasses for a few days.
I just can't take criticisms no matter how much worth it or even as much life-altering experiencing as it can get.
She's partially right but that doesn't mean she has to criticise my religion and style. You all know how very sensitive I am.

There were times when I thought of getting out of this uni immediately and transfer somewhere else but here. Just that the $$cost$$ of things is holding me back. Seriously. I would do whatever and whenever I want to if I happen to be madly rich. Nobody can stop me. Sigh... *daydreaming*

Nursing.
First impression of it is cleaning people's ass and stools. WTF
Mind you, I'm taking an (Honours) Degree course. And NO it's NOT an Honours Degree of cleaning people's shits!
It's also underestimated as a so-called "doctor's helper/maid". again. WTF
Doctors & Nurses are a totally different profession and they have their own roles. Let me remind you again that Doctors ARE NOT AT A HIGHER POSITION than Nurses!

I feel like changing my layout again but I don't have any theme or a good header image to think of. Our 1st anniversary was months ago (June) so I should change that!

Hello! I'm busy as always :)
And very little time for myself to chillax.
This Thursday morning was not a typical happy day.

Professor commented to our group:
"Can I say something?.. This group is the most pathetic group I've ever encountered in my 25 years of teaching. I will never forget this."

OUCHIES.
Our fault anyways. But we have reasons why we couldn't cover some Learning Objectives. This is like our first two weeks and everything's so drastic! Can't study one thing at a time. Have to like cram everything before the next PBL class!

Okay in case you don't know how PBL works - in our PBL, each and every one of us in the group MUST contribute what we have studied and researched relating to a case we're "investigating". Of course, the case is somewhat related to Biochemistry.......... and CSI XD

Unfortunately, most of us didn't manage to. Imagine contributing NOTHING for 3 hours of PBL session!! Then ONLY one guy in our group studied EVERYTHING!! So he talked most throughout the session, giving us lectures instead of contributing. But he's so arrogant!
Bragging that he studied ALL OF IT!!
If like that,
Pfft. Don't like him.

Most of the time there is awkward silence.
Then, Professor said:
"(he sighed) I'm so depressed right now..."
